Our Story

For more than four decades, our dental office has been a trusted part of the Evansville community. Our doors first opened in 1980, when Dr. Barry Ray began practicing at 2038 Lincoln Avenue—the very same location where we continue to care for patients today. From the start, Dr. Ray built the practice around a simple but powerful idea: to serve families with excellence, compassion, and long-term relationships built on trust.

In 2007, Dr. Mary Miles joined the team, bringing her dedication to patient comfort and quality care. A decade later, in 2017, Dr. Joseph King became part of the practice, further strengthening our commitment to serving generations of families in the tri-state area. When Dr. Ray retired from clinical practice in 2020, his legacy of excellence continued under the leadership of Dr. King and Dr. Miles, who officially purchased the practice in 2025. Together, they carry forward his vision while bringing fresh energy and innovation to the care we provide.

One of the most special parts of our story is the longevity of our team. Many of our staff members have been with us for more than 30 years, and several others for 15 years or more. Their consistency and dedication mean our patients see familiar, friendly faces every time they walk through our doors—a reflection of the trust and relationships that make our practice feel like family.

At King & Miles Family Dentistry, we believe dental care is about more than just healthy smiles. It’s about creating a welcoming environment where patients of all ages feel known, valued, and cared for. We are proud to serve multiple generations of families and to be a steady presence in our community.

Our story is one of excellence, legacy, and relationships that last. We look forward to continuing to grow with you and your family—providing the same high level of care and compassion that has defined our practice since 1980.
