Orthodontic Aligners

At King & Miles Family Dentistry, orthodontic aligners offer a comfortable, discreet way to straighten teeth without traditional metal braces. Using advanced SureSmile® aligner technology, we provide custom clear aligners designed to gradually move teeth into proper alignment while fitting seamlessly into busy family lifestyles.

Overview

Orthodontic aligners are a series of clear, removable trays that gently and precisely shift teeth over time. Each aligner is custom-made using digital scans to ensure accuracy, comfort, and predictable results. SureSmile® aligners are designed with advanced software that allows for precise treatment planning and efficient tooth movement for teens and adults alike.

What to Expect

Your aligner journey begins with a comprehensive evaluation, photos and digital scan of your teeth—no messy impressions required. Using this scan, we create a customized treatment plan that maps out each step of your tooth movement.

You’ll receive a series of clear aligners that are worn for about 20–22 hours per day, switching to a new set every 1-2 weeks as directed. Periodic check-ins allow us to monitor progress and make adjustments if needed. Once treatment is complete, retainers are used to help maintain your beautiful new smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What types of orthodontic issues can aligners treat?
A: Aligners can correct crowding, spacing, mild bite issues, and tooth alignment concerns. We’ll determine if aligners are right for your specific needs during your consultation.

Q: Are clear aligners painful?

A: Most patients experience mild pressure when starting a new aligner, which is a sign the aligners are working. This typically resolves within a few days.

Q: How long does aligner treatment take?
A: Treatment length varies, but many patients complete treatment in 6–18 months, depending on the complexity of their case.

Q: Can I eat and drink with aligners in?
A: Aligners should be removed while eating and drinking anything other than water. This helps protect the trays and maintain oral hygiene.

Q: Are orthodontic aligners good for teens?

A: Yes, clear aligners are a great option for teens who are motivated to wear their aligners consistently and want a less noticeable alternative to braces.
